Catalog of models (compiled by Josh G.)

Plastic Oscillators

The 900, 1200, and 1500 (first-generation) have blue translucent plastic blades, and transparent plastic grilles. The controls are on the base. They have very powerful motors and blow far more air than most other plastic oscillating fans. This generation was produced up until the late 1970s or early 1980s.

The 600A, 678A, 900A, 1200A, 1500A, 1600A, 1245PO, 1545PO, and 1645PO (second-generation) have brown opaque plastic blades and tan plastic grilles. The controls are on the base for desk fans, and on the stem for pedestal fans. The motor isn't quite as powerful as on the first generation (box and manual comparisons confirm that fewer RPM are specified). This generation was produced up until 1989. Note that, around 1988, Lakewood switched from an unusual 15" oscillator to the standard 16" size. I suspect that only the blade was altered and the grilles and other parts remained the same.

The 900SX, 1200DX, 1600DX, 1245DX, and 1645DX (third-generation) have gray plastic blades and white plastic grilles. Controls for both desk and pedestal models are on the back of the motor. These models were introduced in 1989 and were produced until the mid 1990s.
